Last Post

Hello everyone (anyone?)

This will be the last post of the Do Unto You project, reason being that1) I haven't been on this blog in ages 2) I have other comic projects I am working on and 3) the story itself has not been improving, in fact I keep on having to remove complications/simplify storylines.

I may come back to this story later, in the meantime I will be working more of Wanton Soup and my newest creation- Rainbow Killers, a supernatural sexploitation comedy series that has been of a better writing experience than Do Unto You.

So officially unless I am able to fix a lot of the major problems: Do Unto You is on Permanent Hiatus.

Thank you everyone for reading through my process.

New Developments

Hello everyone,
Things have been busy for the past couple of months so my writing was a big stagnant. I got a part-time job recently working in a grocery store, its not a glamourous job but its enough to start paying off loans and getting financial worries off my mind.

Also I got new STUDIO SPACE!
Cloudscape Comics, the comic artist collective in Vancouver is part of a residence art program where we can get use of a building for our project for three years for free as long as we can commit to 350 hours of community service. You can find more info about it here: http://cloudscapecomics.tumblr.com/

So now I got new studio space- it helps me have an area for working on art and writing, seperate from my home where I can be easily distracted. (I still have the internet to contend with but so far its working well)

As for my writing, it was getting stagnant again. Although the ScriptFrenzy event was GREAT in getting me to start the script- the biggest issue wasn't the script but the setup of the events that didn't work and the characterizations needed work as well. One character I felt had nothing to contribute to the story, ended up being retooled to be a great catalyst for comic.

Overall I hope to get back to this blog and start updating more on progress (as well as posting up new artwork) and looking to finish the first draft at the beginning of next year- so that I can edit, finalize the draft and get started on the artwork aspect.

So wish me luck.

Almost out of the hole

For the past month, it was a little difficult to write due to an art project and job search. I managed to drank out another five pages, getting the number up to 107.

Adrian behavior is now getting even more out of control and he struggles to keep his wits and solve the mystery. I hope to get some more writing down tonight and through the weekend. After the first draft is done, I want to go over and add anything I might have missed. Then I can start getting people to read over it.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Big Things are Coming

I've been working on job search, had a couple of interviews recently (no call backs though) and I am getting involved in a large animation project. Much bigger than my previous gigs.

I'm helping to create an animated TV series pitch...for Robert Rodriguez' new network. I shit you not.

My friend Eric who I worked on his student film got this idea for a series and really wanted me in on it, so if things go well and it gets accepted, I may be working on an...animated tv series-WHAT? My brain is still reeling over it!

So how is this going to effect Do Unto You?
Nothing really because I am going to set aside time to write some more along with the pre-production work. If things work out well, by the time I finish the pitch animation, I will be able to start the artwork for the comic...at least I hope so.

So yeah, things are going to be real busy for me and if anything I seem to have the best productivity when I am head-first into a project.

Wish me luck. I barely survived the last directing gig, this one is going to OWN me for the next few months.
